The Father and the Sat Nav

Dad has just bought a new Sat Nav and I am going to take you through the positives and negatives. He was lucky enough to actually get this for free as his company paid for it but there have been several issues that we have had to take on with it so far.

The product is a brilliant idea for anyone who is bored of getting out a map at every corner or perhaps on the verge of a divorce because the wife is still giving out the wrong directions. There are a couple of times that the Sat Nav took us in the wrong direction and then decided that it was out fault so told us to turn around post haste. There was one instance in which we were going to places unknown that the machine lead us into a road that didnt exist.

Another issue with the product is that it is being used for the simplest of trips and because you are busy waiting for the voice to say “turn left” or “speed camera” it actually ends up taking longer than it would without it. I

On the other hand the product can come in very useful if you purchase one that can be used in other countries. When you are in a foreign country it can be nice to be told the directions by somebody other than your wife or someone you do not understand.

Replacing them is not easy either which is why some form of Sat Nav Insurance will need to be taken out to avoid nasty replacement costs. Of course you could get gadget insurance as this actually sets out to cover you against other things like phones and games consoles. It is not always necesscary to take out that extra PDA insurance

Great Sat Navs

I was sitting in the automobile with my father the other day and I was holding the satellite navigation system in my hands, so that we knew where to go. It actually occurred to me that we probably did the exact same thing aaround 10 years ago, but things were very much different. I was instead reading things from a paper map and there really was no postcode location, so we all ended up getting lost which wasted a huge amount of our time. Well, all this being said I came to start thinking about what the possibilities of the sat nav system will be in the future and this is what I have come up with.

Speeding

There are huge ugly speed camera’s all around the nation, but the thing is they are not hidden and people speed up to them and then slow down to go past them, by implementing a speeding device which automatically fines you when you have gone over the limit, it is surely going to cut down speeding fines.

Self Driving

A sat nav system already knows where about it is, so the next step is the sat nav communicating with other nav savs and driving itself on the route. All the satellite navigation system would realistically have to do is communicate over the internet to find what cars they are close to in their exact location and this would then make each car stay in a distance from each other. This would help avoid things such as dangerous crashes.

Entertainment System

There will be no more need for separate CD’s radios or ICE. All this will be done from an incorporated satellite piloting system, which will in the end have all these functions on there itself.

When your old vehicle has had it, why not look at purchasing or taking a look at used cars, there are so many different models of Alfa Romeo or Ford
